How Mircera Injection works
Mircera 50mcg Injection is an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA). It works by stimulating the bone marrow (soft tissue inside the bones which produces red blood cells) to produce more red blood cells.

Expert advice for Mircera Injection
- Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have a history of blood disorders, cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, seizures, or kidney disease.
- Inform your doctor if you experience chest pain, breathing problems, sudden/severe headache, or difficulty with vision, speech, or walking.
- Requires regular BP monitoring.
- Requires weekly haemoglobin(Hb) level monitoring when treatment starts and monthly thereafter. Hb level should not exceed 1 g/dL in any 14-day span.
- Do not discontinue treatment without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better.

Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Mircera 50mcg Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation
Mircera 50mcg Injection is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

Driving
Mircera 50mcg Injection may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

Kidney
SAFE
Mircera 50mcg Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Mircera 50mcg Injection is recommended. Regular monitoring of kidney function tests is advised while the patient is taking this medicine.

Liver
CAUTION
Mircera 50mcg Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Mircera 50mcg Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
What if you miss a dose of Mircera Injection?
If you miss a dose of Mircera 50mcg Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
