Uses of Elinal Tablet
Elinal 1 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of breast cancer. It is used with other treatments, such as surgery or radiation, to treat breast cancer in women who have attained menopause.

How to use Elinal Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Elinal 1 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How Elinal Tablet works
Elinal 1 mg Tablet is an aromatase inhibitor. It works by lowering the amount of estrogen (natural female hormone) produced in the body. This can lower or stop the growth of some breast cancer cells that need estrogen to grow.

- Your doctor has prescribed Elinal 1 mg Tablet to treat breast cancer.
- Elinal 1 mg Tablet lowers estrogen production in your body and reduces the growth of hormone-sensitive tumours.
- Elinal 1 mg Tablet can be taken with food or on an empty stomach with a glass of water or juice.
- Nausea (upset stomach) and hot flashes (sudden sweating and feelings of warmth) may occur on starting treatment with Elinal 1 mg Tablet but should go away with time. If nausea is bothersome, take it after meal.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible if it is within 12 hours of the missed dose. If it is more than 12 hours, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule.

Pregnancy

Elinal 1 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy. There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation
UNSAFE
Elinal 1 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during lactation. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby, or the mother is suffering from a condition in which breastfeeding is not advisable.

Driving
Elinal 1 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.

Kidney
Elinal 1 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Elinal 1 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Limited information is available on the use of Elinal 1 mg Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease.

Liver
Elinal 1 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Elinal 1 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Limited information is available on the use of Elinal 1 mg Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.
What if you miss a dose of Elinal Tablet?
If you miss a dose of Elinal 1 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
